ICT Pink Slip Party IV a Rousing Success
Join Us for ICT Pink Slip Party IV at the Wichita Marriott (East)
In case you haven't heard, we've been hosting pink slip parties every few months to give displaced workers a chance to mingle with their fellow out-of-work professionals, meet recruiters, exchange ideas and even learn about how to start your own business.
Our latest ICT Pink Slip Party will be held at 2:00 pm January 19 at the Wichita Marriott, located at Kellogg and Webb.
We hope you will already be taking advantage of the opportunities at the CareerQuest Expo developed by Quantum Expositions International. If you come for the morning recruiting session, please plan to stay and join us at the party, where we'll have an informal roundtable discussion followed by networking. If you're planning to come to the evening recruiting session, we hope you can come a little early for the party.
We've been averaging about 100 to 150 people for our parties, and we've seen people make connections that lead to jobs and start new companies or careers as a result of coming to the ICT Pink Slip Party.
See you on the 19th!
Pink Slip Party III to be held September 2 at Office This
First, we'll start the night a bit earlier, opening the party at 4:30 pm. You can take advantage of workshops on resume building and interviewing. And, of course, we'll have plenty of time for networking.
As always, recruiters will be on hand, and our special twist is that you can also meet with network marketing professionals and business consultants about starting up your own thing.
Admission is free. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Cash bar.
Come ready to learn. Come ready to connect.
We look forward to seeing you September 2 at Office This.
More than 100 job seekers and resource providers hit ICT Pink Slip Party II
Congratulations to everyone who attended last night's ICT Pink Slip Party II at the Pumphouse. We hope you got home before the hail hit Old Town.
More than 100 people were at the second pink slip party, prizes were given away, and the networking was incredible. Someone walked away with a free seated massage from Val Kluge, another person won life coaching from Damon Isaacs, and several people took advantage of the Wichita Business Journal's offer of discounted subscriptions and a free Book of Lists. Phil Hayes from The Arnold Group presented one lucky winner with a free resume development package.
KAKE news was on hand recording the festivities and did a nice little piece on one of our success stories
Thanks again to the Pumphouse for hosting us. We're looking forward to coming back soon.
Stay tuned to http://ictpinkslipparty.com or join the facebook or LinkedIn groups called ICT Pink Slip Party to stay in the loop on when and where we will hold the next party. (Use the links at the bottom of the page, far left.)
Until then, keep the faith!
Meet people. Get hired. Hire yourself.
Professionals in the Wichita area who have been, or believe they soon will be, impacted by staffing reductions are invited to come to a party at the Pumphouse in Old Town on Wednesday July 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Hey this isn't your grandpa's job fair but a real opportunity to encourage one another, to reinforce old friendships and form new ones, all in an environment focusing on matching skills and talents to employment. We had a fantastic turnout for our first event on May 20, and we're looking forward to another one on July 8.
Creative thinkers and strategists will be on hand to help professionals explore new ways to apply their skills in working for others or working for themselves. It will be the place to develop new leads and get positive reinforcement from both unemployed and employed Wichitans who care about each other and our great community. Admittance is free. Complimentary snacks and a cash bar will be provided.
If you or someone you know would like to get "pumped up" at the Pumphouse, join the party! No RSVP needed. Just show up ready to have a great time.
